Frequently Asked Questions:

Do I have to be a designer to order flowers wholesale?

You DO have to be a designer to place an order.  We offer flowers and foliage to florists and designers ONLY.

How do I know what flowers and foliage is available for sale?

First, you would need to make sure that you are signed up for our availability list.  We sell exclusively through the Monocacy Valley Flower Co-op.
We update our list weekly and send out an email with the “Subject: Availability for Week of “, every Wednesday at 9:30 am.

Please go to our MVFC contact page to fill out a form.

How do I place an order?

We sell our stems exclusively through the Monocacy Valley Flower Co-op. If you are interested in receiving the MVFC availability please contact us and request to be added to our mailing list.

Do we deliver?

We do deliver up to 75 miles from our farm in Union Bridge, Maryland. Delivery fees are based on your location and number of deliveries we have going into that area.  For a single order a flat fee of $35 would be charged.  Surcharge might apply depending on where we are in gas prices.

Our delivery areas are:
Baltimore/DC/VA on Wednesdays
If you do not see your area listed please contact us about scheduling a delivery.

Is there a minimum order for purchases?

We don’t have a minimum order for purchases if you want to pick up at our farm in Union Bridge, Maryland or at our Co-op location in Comus, Maryland.
If you require delivery, we do have a $150 minimum order for deliveries up to 50 miles from the farm and a $250 minimum order for deliveries up to 75 miles from the farm.

What are the weekly deadlines for placing orders and delivery?

We post availability on Wednesday at 9:30 am for the upcoming week.  We take orders until the following Monday at 12:00 noon.  This is gives us the ability to make sure we have everything processed in time for the deliveries the next day.

How do I know what flowers you will be growing in the future?

Due to mother nature we can’t always predict exactly when certain flowers will be available.  We do provide a Seasonal Availability List that can give you an idea of when flowers and foliage will be available.

Can we pre-order flowers?

We are often asked if we take “pre-orders” and we started calling these WISH LISTS in 2021…
Here is an overview of what that means and how this works.

Obviously due to the nature of farming, guaranteeing a “pre-order” in advance of when a product might be flushing is challenging and almost sounds mis-leading since we are constantly stressing that an order is not confirmed until the week before pickup/delivery. We now happily accept pre-orders from our designers who have been ordering from us for at least one year and keep track of them in a first come/first served way. This means that if you need 10 bunches of White Cosmos for an August wedding, or 15 bunches of Coral Amaranthus for a September event, you can put in a wishlist now and we will be in touch the week before to let you know how many stems we can provide. We’ll get into custom growing below but to stress how easy it would be for us to meet your needs if we know this now, we’ll mention it here too – We can (with plenty of exceptions of course) very easily meet this kind of pre-order if we have 5 months lead time on so many of the annuals We grow – Zinnias, Cosmos, Amaranthus, Gomphrena, and Celosia, among others.

We often receive mood boards with wish lists and this is SO HELPFUL because it allows us to make suggestions for interesting flowers we may be growing / can grow that might be a nice fit.

Again, wish lists are compiled by our admin, Lydia, in the order they are received, and the week of your event, the items are pulled from availability and confirmed before our list goes out.

Do we provide Custom Growing?

The answer is YES!

While so much of our crop planning, seed and plug ordering, and field layouts are done for the year, it is NOT too late for late summer and fall tweaks. As we outline above, if you know now that you will have a need for a large quantity of an annual flower such as Cosmos, Zinnia, Amaranthus, Gomphrena, Celosia, Sunflowers, and even Dahlias in particular colors that we may not be anticipating (for example we know we always need white and blush, but we have heard mumblings of lots of terra cotta this fall!). Your request does not mean you are locked in to purchasing – but it does give us the best chance of providing you what you will need for a specific date.
